What do you guys use to distinguish Headquarters stands in Spearhead? I'm a visual gamer – any great/practical ideas that you've seen?

Jeeps, radio trucks, officers looking at map tables, motorcycle despatch riders, maybe the odd MP. Higher level HQs get more stuff.

Armoured units get Armoured command vehicles of an appropriate type.

For my infantry I put an officer and radioman plus I use a different number of figures than for the rifle units

I make the command stands round and all the infantry stands rectangular, makes it easy to see on the table.

Circular bases. Why didn't I think of that?

Perhaps octagonal for engineers?

I do the same as Bashy. I also mount support weapons, FOOs etc on circular bases. Anything on a square base can move and fire, circular can only fire halted.
