I see Mike Hutchison has the rulebook "A Billion Suns" coming out from Osprey at the end of May (even though his blog says August).

Definitely sounds different..
-No "army lists" and you don't pre-build a fleet. You "requisition" ships during the game as they jump in to the fray..
- You DO create your own faction with perks and advantages
- Can play a single game across multiple table tops
- The points you spend to requisition ships are also your victory points – so you need to spend just the right amount to win..

I had heard rumors of Osprey working on rules for starfleet battles. After their Horizon Wars game, Gaslands and a few other titles I'm interested.
