Very Nice! I have a bunch of ECW Highlanders to paint, you tartans gave some great ideas.

I would recommend sticking to fairly bland colours particularly for the base shade – browns, greys, beiges, grey-blue, dark greens. The over pattern shows up better and with that I also recommend avoiding eyeball searing reds, blues, yellows and whites.

I like the way you chose to do your tartans. I think there are many ways to paint them and even though they can be maddening, that's half the fun! Well done, keep it up!
