I was with a Mech unit in the ROK, '84-'85. SR-71s would make recon flights along the North Korean Border/DMZ. My unit was stationed, just South of the DMZ. Save for when we were on the DMZ, running the mission. The SR-71 stayed on the South side of course of the border. On occasion we'd hear a sonic boom when they wanted to with the Norks. We all laughed, and cheered when that happened ! |
