Wanted to show you my latest custom Battle Cry board game mat here, made on a Killing Fields static grass mat -
The 4 inch grid was applied with an ink marker, and the hills cut out of the mat material. Since the grass top is bonded to a 3/4 inch pile backing, the cut out hills can be laid onto the board and will show some elevation effect (I tested the hills and they'll support the weight of 10-15mm miniatures – these with our typical multiple-figures mounted on each stand). I've made a few BC mats over the last 10 years, and this latest version looks good while it took a lot less work to bring off.
