Anglo Danish Ceorls:

The Ceorl bases are designed to sit behind the Huscarl bases in an earlier post from yesterday

"Res ad triarios redit" as the Romans used to say. Those guys look great!

Pauls Bods30 Jan 2020 9:36 a.m. PST

Again, georgeous!

So you're differentiating mainly by armour. (Therefore having mixed units and not necessarily putting armoured and unarmoured in different units – but the basing does allow you the freedom for that.)

Thank you for all the encouragement guys.

Actually yes :)

They are not entirely unarmoured and more bases with more armoured models will be added to the 'Ceorl' bases as I paint. Forgive me but it stands to reason that the lesser armoured men would not be steadfast in the front ranks. They would make their way to the rear, unless of course they had a death wish!

I'll be using Swordpoint and Hail Caesar in the main- with *my* basing in mind- as long as the basing is consistent there should be few problems with either ruleset.

To be honest, the look of a game has always interested me more then sticking to the letter of the law with a ruleset.

I agree, about the look. I never agreed with the you have to rebase your figures for new X rule set.

You can always use some type of marker to indicate casualties. You could use these guys for Warhammer Ancient Battles (which are usually individually based).

Hu wmers,

Yeah, nothing drives me up the wall more then having to re-base mini's… first, it takes a long time and secondly you're always in danger of damaging the paint work :>(

No doubt they will do so as many at my club still play WAB 1.5. I don't know why they didn't hop onto WAB V.2, which has a much better feel for cavalry?? I think I'll ask :>)
