"Have you ever wondered what an ancient Egyptian mummy would sound like if it could talk? A wild new scientific experiment has finally answered this burning question, but the result is perhaps less impressive (and certainly less ominous) than you might think. The sound of a vocal tract from a 3,000-year-old mummy has been recreated using CT scans, a 3D-printer, and a voice synthesizer. "Scientists Just Made a 3,000-Year-Old Mummy 'Speak'" Quick! Call Brendan Fraser! "Now if they could just get a word out of Teller."
I watched a 30+ year old VCR tape recently, and Teller was talking in an HBO commercial. (Rumor has it that he talks all the time, but Penn beats him to make him shut up… ;-) |

The mummy's voice is interesting, and funny, at the same time. Thanks for sharing. It would be more convincing if they did the same for a living, speaking, person (CT of their voice box, apply the same synthesizer, etc.), to demonstrate how accurate their system is. Cheers! |
