Afternoon All – yesterday I was joined by five of my gaming friends to refight the pivotal English Civil War battle – the first battle of Newbury. I

I'd done some significant research in advance of the game with the intent to field every single regiment known to fight in this battle.

I used to live on Wash Common, with the Falkland memorial at the end of my road. Very little on-site information about this important battle, most of which is now built over, needless to say.
