Afternoon All – yesterday I was joined by five of my gaming friends to refight the pivotal English Civil War battle – the first battle of Newbury. I I'd done some significant research in advance of the game with the intent to field every single regiment known to fight in this battle. There are four blogposts relkating to this battle – the first sets out my plans etc link If you are not interested in all the background stuff just head to the final report here and the full write up… link some pictures from the game – over 40 on the blog
Thanks for looking |

I used to live on Wash Common, with the Falkland memorial at the end of my road. Very little on-site information about this important battle, most of which is now built over, needless to say. |

My sister used to run The Old Bell – shame to see it is now boarded-up on Google Maps. |
