With all the excitement currently buzzing round conflict in South America, here are some reviews of the most recent rules: link link link You may have seen one or two before, but I thought it would be handy to have them all in one place. |

Ordered my copy over the weekend, just waiting for it to turn up. For once, I have the armies already painted up. :) I'd second the recommendation for Alan's "To the last cartridge". I'd also add the Partisan Press book, " Uniforms of the Pacific War" – one of the Best books possible on a war. I also really like Outpost's range of figures. I only found one issue with it, a lake of generals. Lastly, Maverick do a nice range of flags. The Chilean ones were done for me, so any issues blame me! It's certainly good to see this war promoted, it deserves more visibility than it gets.

@Tim: That Partisan book is good, if you can still get it. I hear good things about Esposito's non-Psprey uniform book. I used French Generals from the FPW range, and soem from another 15mm manufacturer I can't recall. There are flags in the book you can scan and resize. I suggest you visit some other wargame forums and post links. It is time to get this War on the map! Trebian |

I used the French generals too. Trouble is they are slightly smaller than the Pacific War range. One tip, being an English only speaker, many years ago Tango posted a link to a search in Spanish for the battle of Tacna. Wow! Thanks Tango, as that opened up a whole lot of information on the War, including some plates from a Blandford style book. I saved them somewhere but they were really useful when identifying the uniforms for Tacna. The other thing I found from those forums, South Americans really hate the British… :( Tim |

I didn't notice the difference in size as I based them separately. I sued the Wiki pages in Spanish as well, and some others I found. Very good. I think it depends on which South Americans it is as to how much they hate the British. But then the rest of the World hating us is something we have to get used to, I suppose. |

Trebian; Tracy from Daisy is writing up a review of both Chile and Ur for our newsletter. Since I also scribbled out some blather, I was on the draft newsletter before it's sent out. I think I might be getting both of these rule sets. Even if the Ur set is really a one trick onager. Eric |

@epturner: Tracy has been in touch about quoting and pictures and so on. Be keen to know what you think should you acquire them, especially if you are prepared to pen the odd word or two. Getting the word out is quite hard for a new name. And if you look at my latest battle report you can do more than one trick with an equid cart: link |

My copy of the rules showed up yesterday. I think these are just fantastic. You did an amazing job, I've now got a new conflict to paint up… Eric |

Good to hear you weren't disappointed. Once you've given them a go it would be good to read an AAR. |
