With tongue in check, I'm starting a blogging tradition that the month with focus on the gloriousness of the ACW.

Kinda like in October, when a lot of folks blog about zombies. except this is way cooler.

I've started some miniatures, but have made more progress on terrain. Come check it out at why not at

and join me (if so inclined) in blogging about ACW gaming!
(this might spill over into February, but that's OK, because it still fits in the word play…

Why should we be wary of the ACW, is it addictive? ;o)

Brian Smaller13 Jan 2020 11:23 a.m. PST

I can get behind that – see my post above :)

Do we need a Festivus-like tent pole?

It IS nice isn't it? : )

and it can be totally addictive

Way to go Brian, you're in the club…

Ah, yes – the jolly old ACW

My first and most enduring period to game

I find ACW games quite enjoyable in spite of the lack of combined arms interaction. My first period was WWI followed by the thirty Years war, so we can see that I am sort of out there. Got into ACW because of a failed business that caused me to inherit a large collection of Foundry ACW that I planned to paint and sell. A lucky break for me because although I lost $2,000 USD on the deal and got years of ACW fun in return .
