Can someone tell me who the Behuchis fought for in the Indian Mutiny? I have a unit of 19 Foundry, probably from the African range, and I need to know what type of officer to use. Thanks – Hal

"When the Indian Mutiny broke out in 1857, the 1st Belooch Battalion under Lieutenant Colonel Farquhar was dispatched across the Sindh desert to join the Delhi Field Force. It was engaged in several actions during the siege and capture of Delhi. During the next two years, it fought in numerous engagements in Oudh and Rohilkhand, as the British systematically stamped out all resistance."

In addition to that – there were quite a few part of the Hyderabad state forces that did remain loyal

I don't think he's talking about regiments raised from the Baluchis, but about Baluchi irregulars from the Darkest Africa range.

The "1st Belooch Battalion" is described irregular when raised, so how different would they look from the Darkest Africa figures anyway?

I believe they wore a – very nice looking- green and red uniform. The Foundry Baluchis in the Indian Mutiny range IND 119
The Foundry Darkest Africa Baluchi are tribal warriors but could IMHO also be used in the Indian Mutiny.
