For those who are so inclined. Now we need someone to figure out the Inspection assignments and facings for the period under Pavel when the regiments were identified by their proprietors.

Come to think of it, also useful for 1799 in Holland

Search ‘marksmilitaryhistoryinfo' on the net. Excellent resource

Interesting as they have the whole range of Suvorov Russians from Battle Honours. I have a whack of them.

One of the most interesting campaigns of the Revolutionary Wars. Shame Souvorov never got a crack at Boney.

Yes, after reading "Eagles Over the Alps" years ago, I developed a real fascination for that campaign. If you can find a copy, it's one of the best accounts of a campaign I have ever read, in part because very few historians succeed (IMHO) in capturing the impact of terrain and weather. But I have always found Christopher Duffy to be an exceptional historian.

The terrain for some of the relatively small battles in Switzerland would be great fun to construct, and most of them would be easily playable with skirmish rules or something on the scale of "Chef de Bataillon."

I'd also recommend this book for discussion of Souvorov's career. Yes, it's expensive.

Will have to put it on the list. Remarkable, for all the effort the NATO armies spent trying to understand Soviet culture and decision making, how little attention got paid by the military or academics to his influence on Russian military culture.

have both of the books mentioned. My bio of Suvorov I picked up a decade or more mow for $C20.00….yikes….

just clicked on the link and had a look….not sure I like those very much. IMO, you'd be better off going with the BH range in the French Revolutionary wars section.

Unfortunately, they don't have pictures on the website of the BH figures. Were those among the products Andrew Barton did for BH?
