Hundvig Fezian is not a real big fan of pre-painted minis, and he positively despises randomly-packed "collectable" ones - so why is he writing this article?

"President Donald Trump has revealed that the United States is currently developing 'many' super-fast hypersonic missiles and boasted that the American weapons were 'big, powerful, lethal and fast'.

It comes after the U.S Army awarded a $2.5 USD billion contract to aerospace and defense company Lockheed Martin to build them with the aim of having at least one ready by the end of next year.

Trump's mention of the hypersonic missiles was dropped briefly into his national address on Wednesday as he spoke of the escalating tensions with Iran just hours after Iranian forces fired missiles at military bases housing U.S. troops in Iraq…"

Hypersonic or hyperbolic?

I mean, I'm pretty certain the US will be able to develop the fastest "whatevers" … but at least give the devs some lead time.

Actually, that radar detection image is completely wrong.

We have had "over the horizon" radars for quite some time, which significantly increase the detection ranges of ground-based radars.

I suspect even hypersonic weapons will need to operate at significant altitudes in order to have decent range, since otherwise their ranges and speeds will be much reduced due to the thicker atmosphere at lower levels.

Of course, they will be very fast, making them a huge challenge to detect and engage effectively, if that can be done at all.
