I couldn't resist taking a few snaps with my new camera of the completed unit of Yusuf ibn Tashfin's Black Guard. They've been sitting ion the cabinet for a while now as hummed and harred over what camera to go for.

I currently ploughing through three more units of Almoravid and Andalusian troops and they should all be completed quite soon.

Here's a couple of pics- There are more on my blog here:

Amazing! And the fortifications in the background look just right.

Bigby Wolf06 Jan 2020 10:29 p.m. PST

They look great. But I disagree with Skeptic: I think the fortifications look way too small …

They could climb over those outer walls with ease!

I like the blue with the black! I have a bunch to paint up, too, I think you've inspired me. Thank you.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Thanks guys, I'll take some better pics today as I don't like the deep shadows in the pics. I was in too much of a hurry to use my new camera!

The miniatures are a mix of Artizan Designs, Footsore Miniatures (formerly Musketeer), Saxon Miniatures (Now Sold by Warlord Games) and there's a Perry Casualty from their Crusade range in there too.

They are 28mm in scale. Actually I just bunged the walls behind the miniatures to hide a very large number of paint pots that would have ruined the picture.

Thanks, they paint up really well, all of the models from the various ranges. Have fun- I did :>)
