I just attempted a fax order to Navwar and it failed to send. Do I need to send at a certain time or day, or is the shop closed down for holiday or some other reason?

If it is outside UK business hours maybe the machine is switched off.

Do fax machines still exist?

I used snail mail some month ago and it worked.

GeneralWAnders06 Jan 2020 9:00 a.m. PST

I just tried again (and unless I'm mistaken right now it's 4 PM over there), and received an error of "Your fax has failed because the receiver's phone was busy 3 times in a row."

For reference I am using Faxzero as I don't personally have a fax machine. They do add an extension of 011-44 to the phone number, which I've been adding as 020-8590-6731.

At this point unless I'm doing something wrong I think snail mail may have to be the path of choice.

Have you tried dropping the first zero from the phone number?

You should dial: 011 44 208 590 6731

In the end I sent an order via snail mail: first letter I've sent in years! Got payment confirmation, and I expect the boats will be here in short order.

He may be old fashioned but he's very efficient and his his ships are jolly nice too.

It must cost him so much business. Who can be bothered with the hassle compared to just clicking?

I just sent an order to NavWar for GQ1 rules, since they don't have email and I can't just call (US to UK), is checking for funds to clear the best way to check on my order?

I will be sending an order out myself this week. Hopefully he's still taking business if he can. I've always had excellent service but understand if the order has to sit during the lockdown.

Received my order from NavWar yesterday, packaged very nicely along with a receipt showing where they charged me.

I used an online faxing site (GotFreeFax.com Premium Fax Service) to get my order to them and was really nervous about whether and when I'd get my order, but checked my banking account details and saw they'd charged me. Just a matter of time after that.
