Have you been witnesses or has this happened to you …?

I once ran a Napoleonic game at a Detroit area convention. 1000 15's across an 8 ft table. One of the players rolled poorly and slammed his fist down on the table. I watched every single one of my beautiful figures jump 8 inches into the air.

So YES, I have seen this.

I watched a guy destroy his own 40k Tyranid army because he lost a battle. He was undefeated until that game. He was an arrogant Bleeped text, and someone just smoked him like a cheap cigar. He was so angry, as units were beaten he just crushed them in his hands and threw them on the floor. Never saw him again after that.

Those are kind of overreactions.

I've seen videos of guys smashing their televisions after their sports team lost, too. I think it's something similar.

I did see a guy one time who was trying to reach over some figs on a wide table impale himself on the bayonets. We heard him yell Oww, and when he stood back up he had two stands of French in march order sticking into his chest.

I once saw the legs of a folding table at a convention buckle and the terrain and figures slide off onto the floor. Sadly, a bell curve of damage.

The only time I've seen that is at our Annual Kaiju Assault on Gingerbread City game.

I've never had a problem running a game but I have to relate my favorite story from my youth. My older brother and I were playing RISK on our screened-in porch one summer evening with two of his friends. The game ran as they all do with one player forced to retreat to Australia. After much chiding and teasing, the losing player calmly placed a finger under the corner of the board and stated: "This game is Over." Flipping the board and the tiny wooden cubes all over the room. We all had a grand laugh about it and learned a lesson in respecting the fallen.
