Want to take advantage of the OG's Christmas sale, so still have a few days. I am starting a 15mm Nap army. want to have future versatility with my minis. Does OG Naps 15mm mix well with AB, BM, Essex? AB is supposed to be 18mm right? How about Battle Honors? I red somewhere those minis were a little smaller than OG's. Thanks, Cheers! |

Been getting Blue Moon and AB seem to go well with each other to me but as stated on many of these comparisons I like variety. |

Battle Honours are noticeably smaller than some Old Glory lines because Old Glory figures themselves vary in size. Some of the Old Glory French are quite small for example, while my Old Glory Prussians, one of their better series, tower over my Battle Honours Prussian horse artillerymen. |

+1 to that. I'd use OG over BH. |

Battle Honours are smaller than AB generally but within the AB range there is some variation. Even so I tend to think they look pretty natural as the weapons are consistently scaled. For example, the French skirmishers in greatcoats are possibly the smallest figures in the AB range and they are a very good height match to 3rd generation Minifigs I have and which I consider to be a nominal 17mm. The AB French skirmishers, in the long tailed coat, are taller than those in greatcoats. However, these very slight differences are neither here nor there on the table. With all these topics about starting in Napoleonics I always write the same thing which is: buy some some samples first and see which you enjoy painting the most. You'll spend an awful lot of time painting for any Napoleonic project. For me AB were my preference not only because of the peerless sculpting but the casting quality is excellent and both these qualities make them lovely figures to paint. You might find that a lower purchase price per casting is not actually the bargain it appeared to be and if you don't enjoy painting them that much the project might well fail. |

I know this is a little late, but I use both OG and BH in my armies. But I only use the older OG figs, as I find the newer ones a bit funny looking, but also too big for my liking. Old Glory French in campaign dress are some on the nieces figs out there IMHO. If you like, I could post some pics of mine, as the ones on their web page, Do Not do them justice. Cheers, Dean PS: I've never had any issues with BH, Great 15's |
