An edited version of recent interview for Miniature Wargames magazine. Info on how it came into being and game play.
Thanks and enjoy.

Wonderful stuff, Dentatus!
I admit I'm more into the Cyberpunk NF SF kind of thing than the Stalkerverse nowadays, but my favourite PC game right now is Escape from Tarkov, so I very much dig this!

I recently watched the YouTube video from Wargaming Illustrated. I have a question regarding the campaign mechanic. As teams level up and get better gear do they tend to slaughter the opposition or is there some built in campaign feature for balance? I showed Zona Alfa to my friends, they started having flashbacks to Necromunda where one gang had a few victories and pulled so far ahead no one wanted to play.

You can set the mood by watching the 1979 movie.

Look for it on Amazon.

Bigby Wolf – I really like the Escape from Tarkov videos. You seen Hardwired yet?

Dragon Gunner – Advances/leveling in ZA is paced. Not fast and easy. BUT… The possibility of an eventual elite team exists.
There's no way to eliminate the potential for imbalance. A built-in governor would muzzle incentive.

That said, patient strategy and long-term thinking has its rewards. You can bypass the mission's main objective if you want and gather salvage from Hot Spots and XP from kills.

So play smart. Let your opponent throw himself against the main threat while you work the edges of the table and clean up secondary objectives. Husband your resources, stay alive, and you'll find yourself in a good position after a couple missions.

Slow and steady wins the race. You can lose the battle but win the game.

I was not aware of those.
I absolutely love the cover artwork for both!

Damn you! :-)
