Just got into WSS and got few first few units from the fantastic Ebor range. The French have a small flask which is presume a powder flask on their right hand side next to cartridge pouch. It has an edging with i presume could be metal or wood but also tassels hanging down. I can't see from any photos of either their or Front Ranks what colour they are..leather, fabric etc? Any thoughts please

I think those are traditionally black.

May I hijack the thread a little bit?
It is still the French infantry in the WSS – did grenadiers generally have red ribbons on their shoulder(s) or only some units or not at all at this time? Any other distinctions for grenadiers?
Thanks for any clues.

Maybe this can help you. This small powder flask were called a "pulvérin".
Pulvérin was also the name of a very fine powder used for ignition which was "pulverisée" pulverized.
