I sell stuff on eBay all the time. About 2 weeks ago a guy buys one of my items, and his handle shows up in Chinese characters. I check his address, and it's in California. I send an invoice and notice "buyer resides in Taiwan.". Worst of all, despite his being active since 2/19, his rating is (0).

Maybe I should have cancelled, but based on what, an ucky feeling?

I post 1 day after the ship by date and he sends me an email "???". Nothing else. I write back (???)What?

Tracking shows the package delivered to the California address 12/13. eBay projected the item reaching buyer today.

Today I get an email "Where is the package sent?"

What's your gut guys? The item is stuck in the holiday glut or am I being Taipei taken?

As long as you were paid, why worry.

Hi

You are covered as long as you have proof of delivery to the freight forwarder.

It's rather odd- I live in taiwan, and have never had any strange issues regarding things getting sent, though I also almost never have things sent from the states (or Canada) as shipping costs from there over to here is pretty horrible.

My guess is that address could be for freight forwarding service from the US to the buyer in Taiwan.

i have only had 1 problem posting on from an ebay sale, that was to a chinese national but to an address in the uk,
it went missing in the uk,, not unusual, but after googling the address it seemed to be a wharehouse on an ind est in hampshire, sadly it was not tracked so i lost out.

having sent packages recorded delivery and confirmation the items delivered by royal mail , paypal have still refunded the buyer their monies in a dispute over ''item recieved or not '' :-(

One thing about royal mail and others confirming delivery, tracking for my last two deliveries (one by royal mail and the other yodel) that where left with neighbours were showing as being delivered to my address and for one of them I had no idea where it had been delivered. The driver marked it down as 'delivered through customers letterbox' despite not delivering it to my address and it being a large parcel, impossible to deliver through a letterbox. Luckily it was delivered to a neighbour that decided to bring it over rather than just keep it.

So while its possible that someone claiming that they never received something that royal mail (or others) has confirmed delivered is simply scamming sellers its also possible that they didn't receive it.

The USPS/Paypal "confirmed delivery" to me in a city 60 miles away, and to a completely different person and street name than was listed on the one intended for me, so………..beware.

I ship eBay out of Baltimore. When I have out of country buyers I ship to the eBay Global shipping center in KY. Past that it isin eBay's hands. If 8t doesn't show to the buyer it isn't your fault. Your hands are clean after you get the notice that the package hit the Global Shipping Center.
If it don't show he can't give you bad Feedback. He makes a claim for a refund it won't come from you but eBay.
A package didn't make it to Ozzieland, which is why I know this info.
If you ship via a the eBay Global Shipping method your golden. And you should read the details.

I used eBay Global once when I was starting out. It may be different now, but the poor bastard in Sweden got hit for like $30 USD in fees, customs duties and shipping. I offered to cancel the sale and try again w/o eG, but he wanted to go thru with it. I've deleted it as an option ever since.

Verdict:. Paranoid

Buyer wrote back and the freight forwarder confirmed receipt. Item is in the pipeline.
