So thnking of starting with the Warlord Naval Infantry unit for VBCW, any suggestions for which sourcebook to get along with the Brigadier rules

I don't think there is a specific source book for British Navy in AVBCW,

I have the Empress and Warlord naval figures, and used the Warlord/Osprey Sealionm book for painting them.

Beyond that it is personal conjecture and preference.

IIRC, in the AVBCW, most of the navy went socialist but that doesn't stop you playing them for any faction you like – in my case Royalist.
