This is a model passing off as a T-55 on Ebay. They even specified it as the "A" model. Yikes.

Looks like it's got the hull and gun of a T-72 with somebody trying to fit it around a T-55 turret?

T-57.5, great for battles between Imaginations.

That was kit-bashed while under the Influence. KBWI can result well in that model?

Wildman09 Dec 2019 8:07 a.m. PST

It is from a company called 4D Model. They use the
same lower hull and running gear/tracks on many of
their models. So not exactly to scale or accurate.
The models are suppose to be 1/72 scale.

Yeah, something not right about those road wheels.

Yeah, this is one of my T-55's for comparison…

I think that's a T-55DB (double-bogie), plans for it which were produced by an enterprising tank bogie engineer and manufacturer, with a strong desire to double his sales volume.

Supposedly, it drives as smoothly as a Trabant.

Sadly, his mistress reported him and his plans for the potentially lucrative financial scheme to the local authorities, when she found out he had another mistress on the side, besides her. Only one prototype was produced.

If its cheap who cares, nothing wrong if its cheap and cheefull. If it looks vaugely like a T55 then for a game its good enough. If its not cheap then you may as well have a better model.

Yeah, 4D, and available cheaper than the example auction. I reviewed another of the range as a source of sci-fi kit bash fodder…

Been looking to find T-55's for scifi canon fodder for some time. Since I plan on kit bashing I didn't want to spend too much on the kits. At Fall In I got the 3 pack for $25. USD Then I recalled these kits afterwards.
Accurate? Hell no.
Base model for low or mid tech scifi forces? You betcha.
And if you look around you can find them, and the others in the line, for just a couple bucks and free shipping.
Enjoy a great source.
