Just in case you'd like to try a few more.

The FCM 36 had an unexpected flaw when the French belatedly realized that the SA18 was utterly incapable against the German tanks that were coming into service, they began designing and testing the longer-barreled SA38 in the light tanks.

Unfortunately, the turret welds in the FCM 36 cracked from the shock of firing the more powerful gun. Upgrading the armament of the FCM 36 was out of the question, short of a complete redesign of the turret.

Thanks for the sharing on the Game Models website. I have a few of theirs that I use – I got them when I first started collecting tanks for What a Tanker. I find them very reasonably priced, but when possible I want to paint my own. I certainly can recommend them as starter sets or for folks who abhor painting.

Regarding emckinney's comments, you are correct and thanks for that. Also, two other major issues surfaced.
First, FCM lacked the manufacturing capacity to build both FCM 36's and the number of Char B1's that the French Army wanted. Secondly, FCM was losing money as the French government was paying FCM only half of the actual cost of the tank (probably bad accounting on FCM's bid!).

Thanks for the feedback of course!

Ah the FCM 36. Now this is my favourite looking tank of all time, it's Art Deco lines make this the look the most sporty tank I've seen! It is to AFV's what the Chrysler Building is to Art Deco Architecture! I just love it, pity it's a really a crap AFV on the table top! HeHeHe.

Thanks Frederick, Captain Darling, and Legion 4. Really like the 1/56 model colors. Does Mad Bob make 15mm?
