How do the more experienced players categorise Eastern cavalry types that are melee type troops but operate in a loose order and shirk from contact with heavier foes such as Cossacks?

I wouldn't say Cossacks are heavy cavalry. But the rules show two types Gallopers and Trotters. You can create a Cav type to suit your game. Can you explain a little more what you want to do.

Just reflect Eastern European Cavalry types as are shown in the rules illustrations.
