Just got the itch to do some WWII naval in Pacific naval action. Looking for suggestions to play out fleet battles |

Battlewagon by Task Force Games – now available on wargamevault. My favorite set of surface naval action rules. Although hex based just treat each hex as a certain number of inches and your set. |

General Quarters works well (The old CinC edition). Even the WotC War at Sea stuff can work. I use 1:6000 (Figure Head)ships so can play GQ on a 4x4 table (cm instead of inches) |

I loved the old Yaquinto game "CV". That being said, only a computer game(or an umpired game with 2 tables) will give you the sprawl and uncertainty of carrier warfare. |

1/600th aircraft and 1/2400th vessels. Your favorite rules set. Note, you can also use 1/300th and even 1/144th scale planes too, if desired. The Full Thrust rules work remarkably well for abstracted combat between "aircraft" (space fighters) and ships. |

If you choose to use 1/6000 miniatures, you can buy deck art for the carriers here: link MH |

Carriers at War from Matrix Games. Still has no equal. |

For complex carrier operations, I've always preferred Flattop (the Avalon Hill version is much cleaner than the old Battleline(IIRC) issue), but to me is the best carrier game. Avalon Hill's MIdway is simpler in execution, but can end up being a mathhammer game (figuring out all the odds). |

Avalanche Press Midway or the old Avalon Hill Midway. Both good games |
