Now that I have some brigs and frigates am ready to expand my fleets with the real workhorses of the western atlantic and caribbean. I will fail at paper models. I love the look of the Hagen ships but they don't take credit cards. Meridian models have one option. Anyone know of others? Any in the US? Thanks Joe |

I am on the same search as you are. I am going to try Hagen. $5 USD for a 1/700 schooner plus they sell separate pivot mounts. link: hagen-miniatures.de/tabletop-schiffe/napoleonische-epoche/schiffe just change to English at the top. Here is an alternative. I am going to try and convert one of the brigs to a large schooner. We'll see how that goes, gotta practice my sprue stretching. |

Thank you all. Actually my german was good enough to understand the site. I stopped using PayPal once they wanted my SSN. I understand why they want it but I try to limit my exposure on the web and how many sources have my important info. Too many data breaches in this country for me. Unfortunately I need 1 credit card to function in society. : ) No other choices? Nuts, agree those hagen ships look great. DeRuyter, good luck with the conversion! I had thought of taking a brig and sanding down the guns to make a merchantman. That much of a conversion even I could do! Joe |

What material(s) do Hagen use to manufacture their ship models? |

Hagen ships work fine for me, the material is white metal for hulls and masts. The models are sold without sails and ratlines but the prices for each ship is good. I add some photos about my Xebec from Hagen miniatuers. I have scrachbuilt the sails and masts. link link link |
