guy a question
could the sherman 76mm and the m41 walker bulldog 76mm have the ability to fire the same 76mm ammo (or was there a difference size etc)
reason i ask is the m41 received a apfsds round m331 according to wiki so was wondering would it work in sherman

There were a lot of different 76mm guns being used in both the US and UK armies. The M32 (gun on the M41) was an all new design for what is essentially a light tank, and had pretty amazing performance for it's size and weight. The M1 76mm gun on the Shermans actually fired shells derived from the 3-inch gun on the M10, but renamed as they were not inter-operable with that gun (due to changes in the cartridge design).

The ammunition for the M32 was made for this gun specifically, so they would not be inter-operable without modification.
