I would like to see a better name than 'Combined Fleet'. It's already been used by an outstanding naval website. Also, it is a general term for Japanese navy afloat.

Interesting news about both 'Combined Fleet' and Lassalle. I do enjoy the majority of Sam's rules. I prefer the mechanism of Grande Armee to Blucher but Blucher allows us to finish a largish game on a club night.

I can live with the name. One of my favourite sets of Napoleonic rules is cursed with the title "Snappy Nappy" ("nappy" = "diaper" in U.S. English). And there's a stable of excellent rules which seem to require names based on knob jokes.

However: I'm really looking forward to hearing what CF is actually like …

Thanks – that's my blog. Obviously I can't give too much away as Sam will reveal all in good time, but I think its fair to say that play testing has gone as far as it can and the rules are 90% complete if not more…I believe Sam is in negotiations with a game company around production – personally I can't wait as I think these are excellent rules – but then I would say that as one of the playtesters!
