Not much on the GW or Forge World site for Lotr. Is it being phased out? Is the licence about to expire? Or are they planning something big? There is the TV show on the way.

The new Rohan book and buildings go on preorder Saturday.

The license was renewed for a long period. I have wondered what, if any, effect the TV show would have on the miniatures line, and have seen nothing about it anywhere. I cannot imagine any other company could make miniatures from the TV show material (GW's lawyers would have to be idiots to allow that in their licensing agreement), but that doesn't mean GW will bother to make any or that the TV showrunners want such miniatures to be made.

Not sure where you are looking but there are lots of mini's available from GW and more coming out. Not counting FW:

For LOTR
93 Good Models
87 Evil

For The Hobbit
30 Good
17 Evil

This is a 2nd golden age for GW's LoTR.

I couldn't find many on their sites, just the box set and a handful of others.

With the T V licence. It would be seperate to the books and to the film, so GW may not have it. If they did, there would be rules in regard to its use (eg. They have to use it, or lose it) as other comps would pay for its use. I doubt TV folk would NOT want figures made, individual actor licences may conflict, but I can't see anyone intentionally standing in the way.

Not sure where you're looking. There's 197 results.

Yeah, I was looking at the top links, not at the bottom (thought they were just more terrain at a glance) odd place to put them, but there they are.
