Reaper miniatures are a good source. Their Bones plastic range is pretty reasonably priced: link |

I would say Reaper bones are around $2.99 USD for a character figure. I highly recommend "Basic Fantasy Role-playing Game". It's first edition basic D&D with some modern tweeks. link |

Reaper's Bones and Wizkids Unpainted's (D&D & Pathfinder, but pay no mind to the names and instead concentrate on how the minis look) would probably be the best choice. And you'll have a multitude of figures to choose from. With these ranges you'll have the adventurers, civilians, monsters and dungeon dressing. So great to hear people playing RPGs/miniature games with their kids! |

And if you want to build stuff with the kids and make 3D dungeon together and very cheaply at that you'll get a ton of tips and ideas from this YouTube channel (there should be gazillion other similar ones too) YouTube link |

The Frostgrave range of plastics and metals are good for human adventurers, soldiers and the like. Also useful for a range of monsters. |

thanks a lot Mr Wigglesworth, i love 10mm too as well as 6mm… i think i'll stay on 28mm for rpg Lonkka1Actual thanks for your link: did't know him. yes my kids & teenagers are crazy about RPG, so i work a lot to prepare nice game sessions… (so hard for me to deal with a game setup like I did 30 years ago… 😉 Thanks Giles the Zog, i like a lot the Frostgrave range too and will probably use some of them 😊 |

D&D and Pathfinder have prepaints, but they are collectible. Basic figures can be had dirt cheap online. |

D&D and Pathfinder have prepaints Very hit and miss with them as well. A lot of them are not really good. Though they can cover some monsters fairly well. I would go with Frostgrave box sets and very soon Oathmark. But Reaper does have some good miniatures as well. |
