Can BBB be played using brigade 60mm x 30mm stands? |

I'd say yes. Just need to track casualties. One slight downside would be that frontage in Line may be off a bit, but that is not critical |

Are you treating that base as 1or 2 BBB stands? If 1, I think you might need to double the ground scale and have a larger table. If 2, just keep a track of when a stand is lost. I use 30mm bases as per the rules for ACW and 40mm at 1.5 ground scale.for colonial games. |

I don't have a copy of the rules yet. I have 3-4000 Baccus figures based already and really, really don't want to rebase—but these rules sound really interesting. Is there a way to continue to use these as brigades in BBB? |

Don't sweat this out too much, 60x30 will work fine as long as both sides have that basing. I'd try out some scenarios with those acting as two stands each, then try it as one stand (albeit a little wider). See how the game feels and then go for it. The rules will let you go either way. Come and have a look in the new group page (post-Yahoo era): link I did some games in 15mm with 60x30mm basing and it went OK: link |

Royal—thank you! Looking at the new site now. Mark |

Just treat each Polemics base as two BBB bases and you'll be fine. For March columns you could always put them end to end. |

Hi Mark, glad you like the sound of BBB. As RM and Martin said (thanks chaps), your 60mm x 30mm bases should work fine if you just treat them as twin BBB bases. (Since artillery operates as single-base units, maybe treat your double-sized artillery bases as singles and say the extra space is taken up by limbers, caissons etc.) Have fun, and please let us know how you get on. I play with 60x30mm bases, FPW, ACW, and Risorgimento. No changes to the rules or distances. Love the game, and nobody notices or cares, as BBB "feels" right… Since the scenarios are scalable regarding figure representation (# of men per base), its a minor consideration.IMO Brian |
