Hi folks, I've picked up a box of Perry Afrikakorps and am interested in painting them up as if they were late war troops in Italy as the leaflet in the box suggests. I'm finding it difficult to get information about the colours of the uniforms at this time though- does anyone know, or have a link to a good source of information about them? |

I did mid to late German infantry for Italy using the Perry box. You should first build out a full platoon for Africa so that you have it and then pepper in some additional modified figures to represent Italy forces. These figures have field grey elements mixed in. Additionally, I cut away some of the bunching of the pants and added gaiters with some green stuff. I also added some rolled up zeltbahns to their supplies on their backs and a few helmet covers. Websearch "Dragon 1:35 panzergrenadier italy" and you will find a good representation of the mixture of elements in the uniform at this point. |
