I would have liked to be around 23 years old in 1923, too young for WWI, and too old for WWII, but alive in an amazing era.

My father was born in 1902. Slightly too young for WWI, but his older brothers served. By the time WWII came along he was married, had 2 kids, and a government job (mailman), so about as safe as you could get. So he died in an accident in 1950.
