At the time of her sinking, Kaga wasn't the flagship of the Kido Butai, or the 1st CARDIV. |

I had no idea Kaga had been found and that set me wondering about the rest. Sure enough within days the same team found Akagi, it seems. Very little video of that, but at least we are spared the music. Earlier they found Hornet and that really is quite a moving bit of film with a veteran seeing his gun position; link

It needs someone to stitch all those images together to make one coherent one of the whole ship. It's very hard to recognise what one is seeing. Interesting that both ships' flight decks are missing – presumably burnt completely away. |
