Painting armies for an early bronze age campaign but need some navies. So I'm looking for a model range that includes boats, transports, early naval, biremes etc. Skytrex seem to fit the bill any others? Also seeking rules that are suitable for small engagements by some one who is a complete Galley beginner! |

The Old Glory Shipyard sells 15mm Ancient galleys. I've got roughly 24 of them painted up with crews. We used the rule set, ‘My Galley Sally.' The galleys available from OG don't include biremes; only triremes, quineremes, hepteremes and deceremes. However, if you take a look at the trireme model it just might do as a bireme: link Best of luck! |

Thanks Ragbones. Those ships in action must be a glorious sight. You should post some pictures of them! |

They may work well with figures but they are not accurate representations of classical era galleys and don't represent the early Bronze age ships at all. There is an earlier thread that referenced this very issue and it might be worth searching for that. Can't help with larger scale but the Skytrex Sea Peoples Warboat, Triakontor, Egyptian warboat & Hippoi merchant look reasonable. Most of the others are classical period rather than early bronze age. |
