I finally got my latest additions finished! Empress Miniatures character pack for Full Metal Jacket and another 6 figures to make up my 3rd squad for NAM

Normally I try to avoid character models but I couldn't resist these guys, I'm not sure I've done them justice but I had fun trying

picture
I even tried to replicate Cowboys Stars and Bars

I also added the first of radio operators! Deadhead this ones for you, thank you for the encouragement

and despite my cack handed painting his smokes are lucky strike!

So thanks for looking
Cheers for now Russ

Your kneeling RTO is the best of the great pack. (Mind you, the black lad just behind and to the left is just a tutorial in both painting eyes and Afro Carib facial features)

For me, you have the helmet cover right (OK it was actually totally sand coloured in reality, but that could not work in 28mm). I love the shading on the side of the radio (What is that strapped on canvas covered thing?) The highlights on his arms…obviously the packet of fags too. The standing RTO is almost as striking

How I do wish I could mix Empress with Gringos40. I have a small number hoping that prone and kneeling can be combined. I need to do the Dong Ba Tower next…Sgt Thoms…it can be done…indeed I have him started

Great job bracken. I think your style is quite unique and some of the best figures on TMP. Keep up the excellent work. TIG

I see you do the Drill Sgt and the chap who blew him away, plus himself of course. Names escape me. Has anyone ever painted them up? I suspect they are too new to the range.

dont know why but the thought of an mini animal mother just cracks me up!

I now worked out who I meant. The Empress figures of Gunny Hartman and Marine Pyle from FMJ. Has anyone ever painted them up?

How about the Rebel Battle Flag on the above helmet in 28mm? Might be a star or two missing, at this magnification, but I suspect in real life…that is not too obvious! That took a steady hand and a keen pair of eyes.

Deadhead, thank you as always for your support. The canvas strapped to the side of the radio I think is a cover but I could be wrong. I'm enjoying painting these guys I just wish I had more time to spend on them. I had to give lucky strike cigarettes ago, I couldn't have them all smoking Marlboro. So far I've resisted the temptation to add Gunny and Private Pyle but you never know. The flag does look more convincing in the figure in real life.

Thanks TIG it's very much appreciated my friend. Time is the one thing I'm lacking I'm afraid. So many plans so many figures to paint but so little time.

Frederick thank you. It makes a change from my usual stuff but when the figures are this nice! Well what can you do!

Thank you Bigby Wolf, The Vietcong are next on the list.

Oberlindes thank you also, there are more on the way.

Old Wolfman, they are such iconic figures I really didn't think I could do them justice.

General Kirchner, Animal certainly lived up to his name!

Brian Smaller, the scene really brought a sense of serialism to the film.

and let us not forget that today is Mickey Mouse's Birthday officially. But I guess you all knew that anyway.

You even painted stripes on the spare batteries for the RTO…sob
