Russia professor admits murder after woman's arms found in bag

link

Prof Sokolov is a Napoleon expert who has received France's Légion d'Honneur.

He is a re-enactor and liked to dress as Napoleon.

Prof Sokolov reportedly told police that he killed his lover during an argument and then sawed off her head, arms and legs.

That is not how you port arms.

He's notorious in the Napoleonic reenacting community. He's punched his at Waterloo 2015.

"punched his" ?

mghFond, you've got to finish it yourself. Add in the missing words, the more lurid the better. The boring words to use would be lover and girlfriend, aide de camp… possibly Horse.

Personally I'd try something more imaginative; cod piece or three toed sloth perhaps. :)

If he had been from St. Petersburg Florida, the title would have been "Florida Man…" and people would have just reinforced their stereotype of Floridians. This being St. Petersburg Russia, well, not much difference I guess. No shocker alcohol was involved. Being Russia, when is alcohol not involved?

"punched his" ?

Horse. He punched his horse because some little thing didn't go his way.

…mmm… Peter Hofschröer first, now Sokolov… there is clearly something dysfunctional going on among Napoleonic historians…

And slashed his horse in Spain with his sabre years ago.

As a Russian he should have dressed as his own side. Russian Napoleonic uniforms look nice IMO although French are hands down the best looking.

I agree with DestoFante. Something is happening to Napoleonic historians. It's one of my favorite wars to read about and I've been doing so for 10 years. Hope I don't go crazy.

Maybe megalomania is the final outcome, hopefully it takes a few leaps forward o get that way, been 38 years and not any crimes yet.
