just curious
the tbm-3s avenger served postwar as anti-submarine aircraft
i understand some remained in service in that role with some nations into the 1960s
the mk 44 torpedo entered service around 58ish
any chance it was armed with above mk 44 torpedo ?

Possibly. Would have been useful in shallow water against diesel subs, but the Mk44 was useless against nuke boats.
