I'm far from an expert when it comes to making terrain – some of the buildings I see here are ample evidence of that – but, my stuff generally passes the 'can game with it' test.

Because I'm not a 'professional' terrain maker, I like to keep the building side of things as simple as I can, and I use materials and tools that most people have in their modelling drawer or that they can buy from their local art shop. Consequently, I occasionally do a 'how to' for my blog, taking lots of pictures of what I'm doing as I muddle along.

My latest how to, or rather as I did, is about a Spanish windmill for my peninsular war stuff, though I can also see it (with no historical evidence) appearing in Italian Wars battles too (because I make generic 'Med-terrain').

I just hope you like it, and it passes muster.

Fabulous windmill James. I do follow your building projects and I find them all terrific. Will have to do this one for my Peninsular war battles.

Great job, as always! About the fence, might it get in the way, should the top of the windmill, hence the tiller and arms, be rotated?

Nice work. Better than adequate. Way better, actually.
