Congratulations and thank you, it looks very beautiful. So these are decals to stick on banners or lead standards? And for the badges of the infantry you have to stick them on the front left sides and center back figurines ??? But since when did the infantry soldiers – Billmen and longbowmen in livery coats – wear their badges in the center of their backs? |

Some had a badge in the centre of their chest, but the norm seems to have been a small badge on the left breast. |

Yes but not in the back as indicated on the citadelsix website ! |

As suggested by Pat McGill in Hobilar: "If the badge were a different colour to the livery colours, either per pale or of one colour, the badge could be placed in the centre front and also centre rear of the jacket. But if the coat is divided per pale, and the badge is on the left side front, it did not appear to be repeated on the rear of the coat." I think Citadel Six follows this convention. |

In summary so if I understand correctly, it's only for unicolor liveries? |

Or ones where the badge is of a different colour to both livery colours. For example, a white badge on black and red livery. Though, of course, there was probably a fair bit of divergence from any 'norm' in practice. |

If the badge is a different color of the two colors of livery? But anyway if the badge is still a different color of the livree otherwise we would not see it? Let's say that when he is at the center front he can be in the center back. And if it is only on the left side front, it did not appear to be repeated on the back of the coat. So it's not a question of color? |

If there is a white badge, say, on white and blue livery, then it would not be displayed on the centre front, but on the left side front. And then not on the back. On a related point, McGill suggests that if the badge clashes with the colour that is normally on the left side front, the colours would be switched. So a white badge on a blue and white livery, would become a white badge on a white and blue livery. |

Ok I understand, but it's weird,it's an English heraldic rule of the fifteenth century? |

Ok I understand, but it's weird, Not wierd at all. Just common sense. it's an English heraldic rule of the fifteenth century? Probably pre-dates the 15th century by a long way. |

And apart from CitadelSix, Freezywater Publications 1992 and little bigmen studios there is nothing else ? As I said elsewhere: You really need to get the books on Heraldry listed here: lanceandlongbow.com/shop.php In particular, "Heraldic Banners of the Wars of the Roses" (3 vols). Scan in the pics and make your own. |
