Hal, unless someone comes to the rescue quicker, I think I have an old Modeler's Mart catalog at home with that info.

I'd just like a source for the old Frontier figures (smile). Have armies in 15mm never finished.

Loved their 25mm Mex-Am range.

Thanks to everyone. I would love the see the listing in the old Modeler's Mart catalog. Yellow Admiral – thanks. I've been trying to pull that up before you sent it to me and I must have picked up a bug. The list is a newer and doesn't list individual poses. Dan – there are quite a few 15mm Frontier MAW on Ebay as we speak and not expensive. Run a search for 15mm Frontier Mexican American War. ThaNKS, everyone. Hal

Hal,

Would you mind letting us know what you are doing or intend to do with MAW figures?

Thanks,

Bill.

Hi Bill. my plan was to have a relatively small collection of Frontier MAW without regard to standardized unit sizes and picking up more as they become available. Is this a period you are interested in, Bill?

I have a passing interest in MAW. I like the US Army's forage caps – sort of early ACW look. The Mexican Army, although poorly led had uniforms that look brilliant on the table top. Also it was the training ground for so many ACW leaders.

Of course from a 21st Century view it can be seen as a land grab of the most voracious type. Removal of Santa Anna wasn't necessarily a bad thing but the resulting chaos and seventy plus years of revolution and civil war were so hard on Mexico.

Are you planning to game with these figures? If so, what rules are you considering?

Hi Bill. I just picked up another large collection of both sides. Probably 50 mounted with horses [primarily mex cav] and and perhaps 250 some foot. I'm short at 50 horses from the first purchase. not sure re rules. maybe Patrick wilson.

One of my favorite wars in history. Too bad so little has been written on it.

"The Courier" did a Theme Year on the Mexican War sometime in the last century-- a good bit of background material and a couple of sets of rules were published.
