My friends Markus Gärtner, Peter Bunde and Thomas Hemmann worked a long time upon the Westphalian army and finally they finished a compendium of more than 500 pages!

For those interested in this army this book will be a must have and as the editor announced the publication date for end of 2019 it may be ordered via link

As our friend Rick Sanders translated the book an English version is also available at the same publication date as the German version :-)

P.S. I think the editor will add some sample pages to the book offer in December (so finally you my get your opinion about the book from them)

99 Euros is a lot of money, but for the history of the whole Westphalian army may well be worth it

Very pricey given you can obtain the same information from the HistoryBookMan at a fraction of that price…………

the author has researched the Westphalian Army at least for 40 years, I cannot even imagine that you will be able to find anywhere the same information, I am looking forward to read this book

I agree that Rawkins (cf. History Book Man) did some good work about the different armies – but I think he couldn't study particularly the German sources which are a must for this army.

But you may judge yourself, as the editor added some sample pages in his shop and so perhaps you may recognize the quality of this outstanding work (in Germany we waited for this book at least 10 years).

Just go to link to check the sample pages.

The book is available at the editor in Berlin at link now

Perhaps some of the readers will purchase a book and so looking forward reading their opinion about it here.

I love it when new titles comes out. I hate it when the high price might prevent it selling well. If money was no problem then it could well be a good buy and I'd certainly be interested in it. Just got to pick the right six numbers!

+1 looks superb.
And yes treatment of a 40 year interest and research, on site, is pretty much unimpeachable!
Good luck with it,

Well, I actually won £2.50 GBP on the lottery last night. So another 40 wins like that I can seriously consider it.

On Military Matters will carry it soon in the USA. Just waiting for the signal that it has hit their inventory.

Received my copy today.
Most impressed with the detail.
Would have to be seriously considered if your interest is this particular army.

I agree, received my book recently as well, a must for those interested in this army and it is much more than just the uniforms.

Fantastic source book on the uniforms, organization and some background on development and service etc. You need no other than this for this army (I think) :)

I received mine recently, and agree with the above observations. It is a must for anyone with an interest in this army and impeccably researched.
If only Bruce Quarrie had lived long enough to see it (I recall reading he had the entire 1812 Westphalian contingent in 25mm)!
