"Many have been the works that have approached Spanish foreign policy during World War II, especially in regard to its debatable neutrality. However, there is still much to do with regard to military documentation, in which you can find war preparations for Spain to enter the war. Among them was the defense of the Canary Islands, one of the main objectives of the Allied reprisals in case of belligerence, on which we already have some work. This article consists of an overview of the defensive system of Tenerife, headquarters of the general captaincy of the archipelago and the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, based on two elements. On the one hand, the risk of an allied attack as a consequence of Spanish foreign policy. On the other, the problems that the defense dragged from the beginning until after the conflict ended…"
