Hey, so I'm quite curious but has anyone ever made a full campaign system for their wargaming? I'm currently brainstorming ideas for a modern era campaign system with mechanics for anti war movements at home, a spec ops system that uses Intel as a sort of currency to do actions, and basic stuff like map movement and battles(though by battles I don't mean having a battle on the grand map, but one which you can convert to tactical wargame).

Here is my attempt at a thrid world imagi-nation campaign. It has been basically a solo campaign that I've been working on since 2009 (I think):

The page gives a list of blog post links about building up to the campaign, and then AARs and back story.

I don't really address the rules directly, but mention methods, and things considered in the game from time to time. Somewhere in there is a post entitled, "Behind the Scene…" that goes into some of the things that are taken into account and can happen.

My approach to the strategic campaign rules, is that I simply create tables to randomize events as their potential occurs, resulting in what I sometimes refer to as the "Fate Tables". There is a running "unrest"value to the general public, possible mutiny, assassination of leaders, etc. with chances of any of these going up and down as each given country experiences success and setback.

I don't maintain an intelligence system, so much as create a give a chance of intelligence successes as plans/ideas occur, and then give corresponding modifiers to the dice rolls on the fate tables.

It is kind of open ended, and probably not quite what you are looking for, but the closest that I can share.

Well, there are these sets of rules out there that might fit the bill.

Hey! So I found the behind the scenes post so I'll soon read that, I'll be happy to see what you did for your campaign. Also, the sets of rules Mike released are extremely interesting and I might consider buying one of them though seeing how these are megagames I'm not sure how beneficial it'll be for the campaign rules I'm thinking of creating as I'm going for a maximum of one player per side with a referee to deal with fog of war and events.
