I know that British Royal Artillery had the gun carriages painted in a yellow-ochre at this time.

Did the same apply to the naval pieces acquired from HMS Terrible or might they have been a different colour?

The 12 pdr naval guns with grey barrel, other parts grey or brown where wooden parts that were made up in South Africa.

Heavier naval guns I think were all grey

What great timing I'm waiting for a restock from the Virtual Armchair General to order a heavy naval gun as well as the Boer Long Tom.
