Picked up the pictured figures off eBay as 15mm – clearly not 'true' 15mm and look more like 18/20mm so outside of my experience. Anyone recognise them? I'm pretty sure the bot/droid is Pendraken though.

Thanks

They seem to be RAFM Heavy Gear infantry. They are 20mm and OOP. No idea about the robot.

Agreed. Look like my HG infantry. Just beat up.

Thanks. No way I'd have ID'ed them. Never even new that HG was anything other than micro-scale.

Rather nice mini's, if a little flat, look like they'd proxy for Rebel Commandoes. Will strip and paint up – and may be even keep. Because like I need to do another sci-fi project in a 5th scale….. with OOP miniatures.

Heavy Gear started out in 1/87 scale with the integrated RPG/minis/card-duel rules.

When they split the rules, they re-sized the models to 1/144 which made for better mass battles. That was a pretty quick split, honestly, sometime around 2 years after introducing the core rules.

Finally found them on NobleKnight, only ~$40 a blister pack – infantry or Gear!

Have toyed with Heavy Gear for my 15mm sci-fi projects, but price has always put me off. But you can pick up single plastic frames on eBay these days. 1:144 Gears seem to work from posts I've seen, I'm guessing the 1:87 would scale even better – when I win the lottery… etc etc…
