This is round 1 of the L' Art de la Guerre Tournament at Barrage 2019. Over 24 attendees clashed in a series of epic struggles for dominance.
With these numbers, the tourney was broken up into 'Early' and 'Late' periods. The Nikephorians border the line and were placed against the Later armies to balance out the match ups. So I can expect less elephants and more knights. It's an unusual situation, in that I actually got a few practice games in before hand. Gone are the cataphracts as they really only work well against one troop type, and are dead meat against knights. Also the pair of elite Tagmata bow lancer cavalry were replaced with four Thematic, but ordinary lancers.

It's Later Crusader vs Nikephorian Byzantine in this L' Art de la Guerre battlereport.
