Thanks both.

The wall (as in the earlier Old Glory in Hue) is from my latest discovery. Simple sculptor's clay. Dirt cheap and comes in the right colour (once black wash added that is).

This wall had a layer of Polyfila for texture and then an off white undercoat spray to finish it. Any puncturing and the wall surface crumbles to reveal the underlying brickwork, so bullet holes were easy. The missing post top was an accident, but looks fine now. The slogan is the motto of the NVA of course and still on their flag.

The final addition was the railing. N gauge model railway fencing and did give it that French Colonial look

Nice recreation. This time in 3D with a mini diorama no less.

Thanks all. Like Oliver Stone I am working on a trilogy.

The next will be the most ambitious, the east wall of the Dong Ba Tower as in all those photos by Olsen. Not a lot of figures from either of the leading makers that fit the bill (yet anyway). Those characters were not just lying prone……they were hugging the fallen bricks, even those firing back… taking cover taken seriously!

No challenge, no fun though….

It has crossed my mind already to try for an even more famous and real correspondent in Hue…I spent the morning downloading photos and then started going through all my boxes of figures from many eras!

Nailed it once again.

Looks like a scene from "Full Metal Jacket" the guy on the far left looks a little like "Cowboy".

Very well executed, you've once again captured the scene perfectly. The use of a black and white image makes it look even more real.

Thanks again to all. Dong Ba here I come. That will be trickier. Camera angles etc, but at least, unlike Olsen, my subjects will keep still and no one is trying to shoot me.
