Here is the muddy waters game mat I did. I had to take pics of 1/2 at a time and put them together in Photoshop which is why the lighting is a little different. The actual size unfolded is 4' X 8' The fleece works well as it does not wrinkle easily and is very color fast.

That does look good! I tried painting brown bases on my Houston ships and giving them a gloss finish, but they looked like they were aground on a mud bar. Your river is much better!

I looked at a lot of picks of muddy waters. Unless a river was flooding, the colors were more shades of brownish green than brown.

I'm going to do another one removing the right side shoreline and perhaps one of the islands. That would work for coastal actions.
