I must get this right.

This is a MUTT not a Mule……

Newly released by Gringos 40 and nicely placed in this diorama. Painted by Barry Evans I gather;

Oh the aquarium foliage is a Godsend for the jungle.

The statues take more finding…but if you are clever enough….

Twelve years ago I photographed some APCs from Games Workshop, used by my sons then aged only 12, as used by Catalans (some kind of pseudo Rambo jungle fighters).

One had German WWII "ambush scheme" but the other was straight out of Nam;

Oh another APC had my attempt at a certain Argentinian Doctor. That was 12 years ago. I could do far better now;

Looks good! Kinda of moody scenery. Many troops kept their sleeves rolled down, as your driver has, to keep mosquito's off their arms. Roll up sleeves were for amateurs, officers(base camp) and stateside troops.
Another frequent mod was a wire cutter welded to the front bumper and sometimes to the radiator. The VC would string wire across a road or well traveled path hoping to lob off someones head. The 'V' shaped length of steel was about windshield height. Not every jeep was so equipped.
Even though they were 'Mutts', I remember everyone referring to them as 'Jeeps'. Either name is fine.

deadhead, I saw that sticker and all I could think of is one of my favorite songs of all time by Don Henley. :)

The Boys of Summer!

I was totally unaware of his Deadhead sticker connection. I still drive with one in a stainless steel frame on the windscreen of my Grand Cherokee. I do also have the Dead licence plate he talks of but cannot legally use it in the UK. So for years it was on my office wall at work…got some funny looks from the more "conservative" surgical patients. Bit like seeing your airline pilot is a Deadhead…….

Nice pics of the jeep. I always wondered why Cheatham had those ski goggles on in Hue 68. Middle pic tells me!

I found a lot of great scenery in the fish store for my Vietnam gaming. Everything from plants to statues. For some reason all my battles are near Buddha statues. haha
